Conclusion
We have found that women are often portrayed as lower class citizens compared to their male counterparts. When looking at the terms of workforce comic one shows that there is a debate in the wages women earn. The fact that this argument needs to exist shows that something is wrong somewhere. Comic two shows that men have better opportunity. Women come second in terms of sports compared to men. Male athletes earn far more than female, and coverage is more for male athletics. Women in combat shows the struggle these women have making one of the ultimate sacrifices for our country. They put their lives on the line and don't deserve to worry about their allies turning against them. Politically women have been seen as a joke. Cartoon 16 emphasizes this point very well.
We realize that there are inherent differences between men in women, but the discrimination and stereotyping needs to stop. We should view everyone as equals and give all an equal opportunity to succeed in what they see fit for themselves. We have seen things get better from years past, and we have given examples of advancements made by the legislature and society, but there is still a long way to go. We have gained an appreciation for the contributions women have made in these various fields and feel that greater things are to come for both men and women in the future.
